Celebrating Senior Care Workers at SUMMIT 2016

Once a year, senior care workers from near and far get together to learn from industry professionals, exchange ideas, and connect with one another at PointClickCare’s SUMMIT. Since holding our first SUMMIT in 1999, attendance has grown from a few hundred to over 1,200 customers. What was once a modest roadshow has grown into a large-scale, multi-day event.

Why do we do it? Simply put, because we love what we do and we love who we do it for! SUMMIT was designed from the start to enable the PointClickCare team to connect with senior care workers to learn and exchange ideas, as well as provide a unique forum for our customers to network, collaborate, gain peer insights, and problem solve.

PointClickCare SUMMIT is one of a kind. It is the biggest customer engagement event in the industry, providing attendees access to several heavy hitters in the senior care industry – all in one place. From AHCA President Mark Parkinson to the minds at some of the industry’s leading insider firms like KLAS Research, top thinkers gather at PointClickCare SUMMIT.

So what makes this year different? Enter Margorie Vyse.

Part firefighter, part event guru, part diplomat and accountant, Margorie comes to PointClickCare bringing years of event planning expertise. Whether it’s a large-scale conference for customers or a smaller corporate retreat for executive leaders, she’s done it all. So, I wanted to sit down with Margorie and ask her a few questions about SUMMIT 2016.

What have you heard about SUMMIT?
First thing I heard was to be prepared for all the hugs going around, which I love! Healthcare professionals are a compassionate bunch, and I’m looking forward to their energy and excitement. I’ve been told it’s a very dynamic environment, held at a beautiful location. And who doesn’t look forward to sunny Orlando in November?.

What will be different this year?
Lots! Last year, we received so much insightful feedback and we’ve put it into action – we’ve broadened the PointClickCare Showcase, we’ve tapped more industry experts to bring more robust breakouts and we’ve expanded our agenda by more than 50%. Over the past few months, I’ve been investigating different food options, searching for great speakers, crafting signature beverages, juggling hotel rooms and meeting space; putting all my skills into making every aspect a real experience.

What do you want attendees to take away from this experience?
All of it! I want them to feel like they received a VIP experience, in all aspects. From the moment they walk into the welcome reception, I want them to feel that they’ve been entertained, educated, well fed, revitalized, but most of all appreciated. Our company wouldn’t be where it is today without its customers – and SUMMIT is an opportunity for us to show how much we appreciate them and the work they do.

What are you looking forward to the most?
It’s difficult to define, however without giving too much away, I think I’m most looking forward to seeing the general sessions being held on the main stage, including our guest keynote speaker on Monday morning. The combination of the excellent speakers, beautiful facilities enhanced with great sound and visuals is sure to be a memorable experience for everyone.
